So I’m typing a blog right now… Never really read a blog before, let alone type one but let’s see how this goes!

So class started Monday and it went much different than normal school, you feel much more welcome and relaxed at UIT versus NSCC. Wednesday we started our first bit of real class. We started out with a bit of business learning the basics of what to do and what not to do when starting a startup. We also began learning basic code with a lesson on HTML in a very clear and easy to learn method of teaching.  Friday we continued some business lessons on starting a startup before diving into the world of CSS3.

UIT so far seems to offer a very unique experience that I feel can’t be found anywhere else. So far we have very easy weeks with class only three times a week. But that being said I know it’s going to be a bit different when the real work starts flowing in and those two “days off” will become grind days! But so be it I’m learning what I want to learn in a method much more suited to the way I learn.

The success coaches at UIT and all the other staff are very friendly and approachable in comparison to teachers I’ve had in
the past. To date I feel I’ve learned more in only a few days than I could’ve in a month at NSCC. The very hands on and visual examples make it very easy to quickly pick up on things versus the constant theory and bloat I was told we were going to learn at NSCC.

But I guess the root meaning behind this blog that could be very terrible for all I know is switching from NSCC to UIT before the fall is a decision I already know I’m glad a made and would do again given the chance!

Great enthusiasm! I’m conflicted about the NSCC comments because that’s where *I* graduated from and I think they do great stuff locally and throughout the province… but we’re aaaaaawesome.

So I’ll allow it. But just this once.

Go us!

It’s so important to be in an environment where you can get the most out of your learning experience. I am glad you are happy with your choice. I know you’ll continue to be happy with it. Remember though, that you can only get out of this what you put into it. Everyone is here to help you succeed so start thinking about what success looks like to you so we can help you get there!
